Material and making
Every LUMA vase is printed, finished and packed in small batches. Made in Amsterdam.
Printed in layers
Each shape starts as a 3D model. The printer builds it in thin layers of plant-based PLA, fine spiral ribs included.
Finished by hand
Then we finish every vase by hand with a flame. It takes away small print marks and leaves a clean, matte surface. We do not sand them.
Packed by hand
We check each vase, wrap it and pack it in a white LUMA box with the water-tight insert and a thank-you card.
The material
The vase is printed from plant-based PLA. It starts to soften at around 55°C, so keep it below 50°C. The insert that holds the water is PETG, chosen because it is strong and water-tight.
