The beginning

Two designers, one line.

We're Floris and Aaron, two young designers from the Netherlands. Our first vase was SILO: a calm cylinder with spiralled ribs. That's where LUMA began.

The idea

Only possible with 3D printing.

SILO's spiralled ribs run from base to neck. A form like that only exists because of 3D printing.

The making

Small batches, layer by layer.

Thin layers of plant-based PLA, one on top of the other, until the form stands.

The finish

By hand, with a flame.

Then we pass every vase along a flame, by hand. Small print marks disappear; a clean, matte finish remains.

Ready for fresh flowers.

Every vase holds a removable, water-tight PETG insert. The water stays in the insert; the vase stays dry.
